“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:1-2, NIV)
Lent is a season of surrender. Paul calls us to offer our lives as a living sacrifice— not just a one-time act, but a daily choice to give ourselves fully to God. Surrender means letting go of our own plans, desires, and comforts to follow where Christ leads. It is an act of trust, knowing that God’s ways are higher than ours. Transformation begins when we stop conforming to the world’s expectations and allow God to renew our minds. Through prayer, fasting, and acts of love, we align our hearts with His will.
Challenge: What does surrender look like for you? Maybe it’s releasing fear, forgiving someone, or saying yes to God’s call. Is there an area of your life where God is calling you to lay it down as a living sacrifice?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your mercy and grace. Help me to offer my life as a living sacrifice, surrendering all to Your will. Renew my mind and guide me in Your perfect plan. Amen.
