“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45, NIV)

Jesus, the King of Kings, did not seek power or recognition. Instead, He chose the path of humility and service. He washed the feet of His disciples, touched the outcasts, and ultimately gave His life for us. His mission was not to be served but to serve. Lent is a time to reflect on how we can follow His example. In a world that often promotes self-interest, Jesus calls us to love through action. True greatness is found in serving others— putting their needs before our own, offering kindness, and giving without expecting anything in return.

Challenge: How can you serve others this Lent? Is there a neighbor, friend, or stranger who could benefit from your time, kindness, or care? Maybe it’s helping a neighbor, volunteering, offering encouragement, or simply listening to someone in need. Service doesn’t have to be grand; even small acts of love reflect the heart of Christ.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your example of service. Help me to serve others with the same humility and love that You showed. Open my eyes to opportunities to serve and live out Your love this Lent. Amen.
